There was something almost cruel about how it played out — the player Newcastle sold for up to £100

On Thursday evening it hosted Matthias Jaissle for the third time in a fortnight, and by now the room has started to learn his rhythms —

Kick-off is 17:30 BST, and for a Newcastle side still finding its shape under a manager who has now taken precisely one competitive match in English football, this is the fixture that

The away end erupts. Somewhere in the directors' box, Nico González watched on, unveiled to the Gallowgate before kick-off to great applause and reception. Down on the

That's the number of successful passes per 90 minutes Nico González has averaged since his Premier League debut — a figure bettered by exactly one midfielder in the competition. His name is Rodri. Everyone else sits behind a 24-year-old Galician who Manchester City signed as an emergency understudy and is now, in the final

While headlines fixate on the unfathomable depth of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) balance sheet, Newcastle United operates inside a financial straitjacket defined by UEFA’s Squad Cost Rule (SCR) and the Premier

There is a treacherous romance to evenings like this on Tyneside. Midweek fixture congestion under the floodlights has historically tested the depth, nerve, and
- [Cruel Tyneside Poetry: Newcastle Masterclass Ruined at the death](https://mytoonarmy.com/cruel-tyneside-poetry-newcastle-masterclass-ruined-at-the-death/) - Under the towering lights, Newcastle United delivered ninety minutes of breathless, high-octane tactical poetry only to be denied a statement victory by the cruelest of stoppage-time penalties. Before a ball was even kicked on a sweltering Tyneside afternoon, the emotional temperature inside the stadium was already at boiling point. A deeply moving, pre-match tribute to

The post-Eddie Howe era at Newcastle United did not arrive with a cautious handshake; it tore through Tyneside like a gale off the North Sea. In last night’s

As St. James’ Park prepares to switch on the floodlights for Sunday evening’s blockbuster against Iraola’s Liverpool, the top flight has already delivered a series of seismic, bloody noses to the established elite. The

As Andoni Iraola brings high-velocity gegenpressing to Tyneside, Matthias Jaissle's rebuilt U-25 squad faces its ultimate opening-day stress test. St James’ Park was a billboard for a stagnant regime; the club’s balance sheet a testament to managed decline. Today, the
